I am influenced by the existence and process of life. That alone gives me wisdom to construct art. The core of my artwork is a reflection of what is and has been done. I am influenced by Art History and the way it repeats itself. I see that I too repeat many concepts and attributes of individual artists. I seem to be fond of fashion as well which emulates itself through out my work as well. My desire is to translate visually what i see physically and spiritually. Through a collaboration of styles and approaches I will always be changing through process after process.

Respectively I tend to focus on the roughness of line and the immediate processes of painting. As we are unfinished beings, in the process of completion, my paintings reflect that concept as I overlap with paint and pencil lines, overworking some areas and leaving other areas unfinished. This whole idea is to show the viewer the reality of the physical process of this medium that takes place. I would like the viewer to develop the line further bringing the piece to it’s own completion. Artist Edgar Degas and Kathee Kollowitz intrigue me to explore composition and line. Other artists such as Rodin and Stephen Destaebler influence my sculptural approaches as well. It is a broad collaboration of artists but each one has a distinct characteristic that I appreciate.

Emotionalism and Romanticism seem to be the generic styles I would fit into with a contemporary streak. I tend to be expressive but also conservatives at times. Using color and its placement is something I will never stop learning and experimenting with. Artist Gustav Klimpt and Larry Rivers influence me with color variations and the differences between a controlled coloring book and a choppy, unresolved drawing. I enjoy playing with modern marks with classical themes. Most of my subject matter currently is woman and the processes of seasons. I love to express the surreal and yet unflattering parts of life. My canvas per say, that I work on currently is rough sheets of wood, in which I incorporate the knots and lines into the pieces at hand….

Created I am so I will create.

bio:

Erin was born in Milwaukee, Wi. She grew up mainly near the cornfields and lakes near the border of Illinois. She studied Fine Art with an emphasis on painting and sculpture at a university in her community; University of Wisconsin Parkside. Since 2006 she has lived in the small town of Caledonia right outside of downtown Racine.

Being a girl on many traits, collaborating painting, modeling and acting, she has made quite a name fore herself. She’s been known to express a sort of fashion statement through her work as well as an eclectic sense of style in her pieces. Some call her the vogue painter. She loves to get away and create. Alot of her work is created first by writing as odd as that sounds which later turns to sketching, and later into visual understanding. Stacks of fashion magazines have always been a help as well. She has graced gallery walls from Chicago to Milwaukee with her pieces and has her work held in private collections through out the U.S. Hoping to one day go international, she soon will make a move to L.A>, California and open a gallery their with her husband.
