Cine-Matic: Call for Entries

The art of cinema is being celebrated by Cine-Matic, a weekly film series presented every Wednesday at the JavaVino coffee shop in Racine. Cinema’s diversity is represented by everything from old classics to foreign films to independent productions. It is Cine-Matic’s aim to represent film from all eras and nations.

We are most interested in independent productions from regional filmmakers who live and work in the Milwaukee-to-Chicago area. Anything from short films to feature length are welcome, whether or not they currently have a distributor. Thus, these can be films that are already available on DVD, those that have made the rounds at the area film festivals and perhaps even won some awards, or simply new projects that you’d like to be given some initial attention.

If you are a filmmaker interested in doing a presentation and showing one or more examples of your work, we would like to consider your efforts. Please contact Nicholas Michael Ravnikar at nravnikar@716fineart.org. Send as much information as possible about your film or films, and your own background as a filmmaker. We will then give you information on where to send your films for consideration.

Films need to be sent on DVD or DVD-R that can be seen on any current system. And while we respect a filmmaker’s artistic vision, we must refuse any extreme genres such as pornography or backyard fighting/wrestling.

We are looking forward to seeing your work.
